During the weekend of November 15th – 18th, The Bank of Glen Burnie will be upgrading our core system used to maintain accounts and process transactions. This investment in resources will ultimately allow us to better serve our customers, improve efficiency, and enhance our ability to offer new products and innovative solutions in the future.
All electronic banking systems will be unavailable beginning at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019 through 10:00 AM on Monday, November 18, 2019.
The Glen Burnie, Crownsville, Linthicum, New Cut, Riviera Beach and Severn branch locations will close at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 15th, remain closed on Saturday November 16th, and will resume normal business hours on Monday, November 18th . The Odenton and Severna Park branch locations will close at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 15th, remain closed on Saturday November 16th, and will resume normal business hours on Monday, November 18th. We have scheduled this update over the weekend to minimize service disruptions as much as possible.
Please carefully review the information provided below detailing temporary service disruptions that will occur during the system update. Our branch staff members are available to answer any questions you may have and will work with you to help plan ahead accordingly. We thank you for your patience during this update and apologize for any inconvenience that may result from these disruptions.
Branch Lobby and Drive Thru Window Hours
During the system update, our branch lobby and drive-thru hours will be modified. On Friday, November 15th, most branches will remain open until 6:00PM (both lobby and drive-thru windows) to assist with your financial needs. The Odenton and Severna Park branches and drive-thru windows will close at their normal time of 3:00 PM. All branch lobbies and drive-thru windows will remain closed on Saturday, November 16th and will resume normal business hours on Monday, November 18th.
Internet banking will go offline and will be placed in ‘inquiry only’ status beginning on Friday, November 15th at 4:00 PM until Monday, November 18th at 10:00 AM. During this time, customers will not be able to use internet banking for any type of transaction including bill pay. This also means that balance information will not be displayed in real-time and will not accurately reflect account transactions and balances. For security purposes, all internet banking users will need to re-establish their security questions when logging into their account for the first time after the updates are complete. All User IDs/Access IDs and Passwords will remain the same. The Internet Banking URLs will also change, therefore you will need to update any browser bookmarks.
Telephone banking will also be placed in ‘inquiry only’ status beginning on Friday, November 15th at 4:00 PM and will resume normal operations on Monday, November 18th at 10:00 AM.
Mobile Banking App
Customers will not have access to our Mobile Banking App beginning on Friday, November 15th at 4:00 PM until Monday, November 18th at 10:00 AM.
Online Bill Pay
Online Bill Pay will be unavailable beginning Friday, November 15th at 4:00 PM. Payments scheduled for Friday, November 15th will occur as normal. Online Bill Pay service will resume on Monday, November 18th at 10 AM. Any payments scheduled for Monday, November 18th will also occur as normal. Please note that you will not have access to Online Bill Pay during the update window, so we suggest setting up your payments prior to Friday, November 15th to avoid potential payment delays.
Most debit card transactions will continue to process during the upgrade, though some transactions may not be authorized due to service interruptions. We urge customers to plan ahead for purchases and be prepared with alternative payment options in case of service disruptions.
The ATMs at each of our branch locations will be available only for withdrawals.
We anticipate minimal impact to our BillMatrix Next loan payment system, but some minor BillMatrix Next outages may occur over the weekend.
